Historians say that World War II occurred after World War I. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor the US got involved in the war. The United States like always, was very good at killing as many enemies as possible without injuring one innocent civilian.
There were many Japanese Americans who lived in the United States at this time. These people had businesses, employees, owned land etc. There was even and all US Japanese Regiment, that volunteered and fought with incredible bravery against the Japanese. The Japanese were as much a part of American cultural as obesity and debt in modern day America. However, as a precaution, the US Government corralled them up and sent them to nice 5 star resorts called Japanese American Interment camps. They enjoyed the luxurious accommodation, while everything got sorted out.
The Japanese were desperate. They were fighting the Russians and US. They had to look into creative warfare methods to prevail. So how does one fight a powerful enemy with massive battleships? Kamikaze Pilots of course. Pilots crashing their planes into US Destroyers served as missiles. It was a brilliant idea. However, one question remains unanswered.
Why did Kamikaze Pilots Wear Helmets ?
Did they feel that if they did not cover their great hair, they would not inflict as much terror? Maybe they were just being funny. If you are going to die, you might as well have fun with it. Is it possible they thought the extra weight of their helmet would cause additional damage? We attempted to contact Kamikaze Pilots to find out the truth, but had a hard time getting hold of anyone. This will just have to be another one of life’s mysteries.
Death and war are not funny, but it is a good question.
